South Coast Modellers
South West Model Show at the
Bovington Tank Museum Spring 2023
On 11/12 February we set up a large display of models for the South West Model Show at the Tank Museum in Bovington. Our display was located at the entrance to the Main Tank Hall on five tables and contained warships, aircraft, a tug, D day diorama, vehicles and a selection of Lego models made by our youngest member Leo Reith. Our webmaster John Wills set up his 3D printing equipment and gave demonstrations of printing throughout both days.
The public attendance was very high on both Saturday and Sunday and we were kept very busy talking to visitors and we received many positive comments on the quality and selection of models on display.
As some members were only able to attend on the Saturday David McNair-Taylor added a display of naval aircraft to the stand on Sunday. Members attending were Dave and Andrea Reith, John Wills, Richard Reith, Leo Reith, Tony Ansell, John Edwards and David McNair-Taylor.
We hope to be visiting to put on a display again at the Autumn event. Our thanks go to the Museum staff for organising an excellent show and for their help and assistance.
