South Coast Modellers
Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Show
21st, 22nd & 23rd July 2023
This was the third-Year South coast Modellers were invited to put a display on at Netley Marsh Steam and Craft Fair. This year the Event organizers had a larger model marque which was sponsored by T-TEC. The Model marque incorporated other local model makers and the Solent Meccano Club. We set-up the display on Thursday, it was not as hot as last year but we manage to completed the set-up within a couple hours.
Our display consisted of warships from the Royal Navy, I.J.N Navy covering the period from WW1 to the present day, Lego tech models, Fair Ground Models, Various Aircraft Models, Period soldiers and a Ultimate Class hydroplane. With the weather being uncertain over the three days our stand was very busy with a large number of visitors. We received many compliments on the standard of models and the professional look of our stand. We also had lots of interest in the making of the models and the history of the ships.
At the end of a very busy event and with the weather being changeable came the time too leaving a muddy site, however we all got away without requiring a tow.
Members attending were, Ken Winter, Alan Gamblin, Charles Davis, David McNair-Taylor, Andrea Reith, Richard Reith, Leo and Lucy Reith and Myself.
